AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) State officials are taking part in a study to determine if Maine's anti-bullying laws are effective.

The Department of Education and the Center for Disease Control will provide researchers with information and an opportunity to conduct surveys with administrators and counselors in schools.

Six schools representing rural and urban communities in Maine have been selected to participate.

The research will help to design an online survey that will be administered to all Maine schools over the next two years.
