Local organization receives donation from Bangor dealership

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A local organization received a large donation, Wednesday in Bangor.

Quirk Subaru presented Penobscot Community Health Care's Hope House and Living Center with more than $34,000.

It's was all a part of the Share the Love Campaign.

That's an effort that took place from November of 2017 through early January of 2018 where the dealership pledged to donate $300 for every car they sold.

The Hope House is an organization that provides housing opportunities, Integrated Healthcare and food for those in need.

The Chief Psychiatric Officer of PCHC said members of the organization feel overwhelmed by the donation.

Trip Gardner, MD, Chief Psychiatric Officer said, "They feel like they are important and that people want them to succeed and it's great to see that and I'm so appreciate of not only the money but that feeling that this Share the Love Campaign has given them."

Nationally, the campaign raised more than $21 million for charities.
