Knox County teaching Citizens Police Academy

ROCKLAND, Maine (WABI) - As a way to teach the public about the inner workings of a police department, the Knox County Sheriffs Office has been teaching a Citizen Police Academy.

Classes have been running since February 28th and end on May 2nd.

CPA requires participants to attend 10 three hour classes from 6 - 9pm.

Classes are taught by sheiff's office employees and experts in field.

Cirriculum includes:
History of Policing
Maine Law, Patrol Procedures
Criminal Investigations
Evidence Recovery
Police Canines
Impaired Driving
Arrest and Restraint
Shoot or Don't Shoot
