Maine (WMTW) Kids starting school in Southern Maine will have new back packs and supplies.
5,000 backpacks were filled with donated supplies.
The goal is to make sure each student has what they need in order to start a new school year.
"I'll tell you, we have some folks who have done this since day one, and they look forward to this every year because they have kids in school too. And they know exactly what's needed and how tough it can be to get those supplies." Says Steve Alpren, of the Unum Community Relations.
In the ten years of the program, more than 30,000 have been handed out.
