HANCOCK, Maine. (WABI) - Kids made their way along the coast of Maine yesterday on a quest for discovery.

It was all a part of the Kids Quest Discovery Day which had travelers stop and explore the scenic sections of Maine's coast.

Seven discovery locations ran from Hancock to Prospect Harbor, and provided interactive, fun and educational activities.

Volunteers from local organizations were there to provide information as well as treats for the kids.

As for the organizers, Kids Quest Day was a great chance for them to show the public what Maine's coast has to offer.

"The Exploration Center is an opportunity to bring people in, showcase some of these preserves that we have, look at maps, see some examples of wildlife. We've got some pelts and some animal things on exhibit here. People can check that out and also go out and explore our conserved lands as well. We have 25 miles of public access hiking trials. So we're happy to showcase this and we're also excited to work with this area's schools to bring in kids so they can learn more about land conservation and learn more about what Eastern Maine has to offer."

Organizers at the Tidal Falls Exploration Center in Hancock IS already planning future events to get families exploring Maine's Coast.

They say beginning June 9th they will be hosting free live performances at the Reversing Falls.
