Katahdin Trust Holds 100th Anniversary Ceremony

PATTEN, Maine (WABI) - 100 years ago, in Patten, Katahdin Trust opened the doors to its very first location.

A century later they held a ceremony in the exact same spot.

To celebrate they gave out donations worth 25-hundred dollars to Patten Playground and Main Street Flags.

And it doesn't stop there, the party continues through Friday.

You're invited to stop by Katahdin branches and enjoy refreshments, special anniversary giveaways, and enter to win the daily drawing including a thousand dollar grand prize.

Katahdin officials say the way banking is done certainly has changed through the years.

Executive Vice President, Bill Lucy said, "I was thinking this morning that in 1918 people probably arrived at the branch in Patten which was the only branch at that time in Model T Fords or horseback and today you don't even need to come to the bank to do your banking you do it online electronically."
