ORONO, Maine (WABI) University of Maine students are getting behind a cause.
The Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity will be hosting their Humvee push with D.E.E.M.I. on Saturday.
Teams of five to ten people will see who can push the donated humvee 20 yards the fastest.
The event is open to the public and all proceeds go to the United Service Organization.
“We do it every year. We always donate to them every year so this is just the event that works out because it’s a humvee and it's for D.E.E.M.I.,” Said Christian Guignard.
“We've had brothers in the past at our fraternity that have served and done their part for our country so giving back to the troops, it means a lot to us,” said Jeremy Binding
The event goes from 12 to 3 at the UMaine tennis courts. Entry is 20 dollars a team.
