BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Honoring those who have served, are currently serving and those who gave their lives.
Husson University hosted its annual roll call, reading the names of fallen veterans.
It was also an opportunity to showcase a series of video interviews with Korean War era veterans.
The project was conducted by students of Husson's New England School of Communications.
"The older guys really gave a better mindset on the military than us younger guys do and they have a lot to teach us," said Husson student and veteran, Matthew Campbell. "It's a bigger privilege than I can explain. I know how it feels. I've lost friends to veterans suicide."
"It's not called land of the free and home of the brave for no reason," said Husson student and veteran, Spencer Alden. "As a country we need to cherish that. And Veterans Day is the best day to do that."
The videos are considered oral histories and will now be a part of the permanent collection at the Library of Congress.
