2,977 tiny flags make up a very large flag, on the lawn next to the football field. They represent the exact number of people who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001.
It's the handiwork of the Young Americans for Freedom group at the high school.
Sponsors from the community helped them to purchase the flags.
The 13 members of YAF then had to figure out a way to form the oddly-numbered flags into an evenly-themed display.
"Our treasurer is very, very good with math. So he did a bunch of equations to figure that out," says John Snyer, Chairman of the Young Americans for Freedom at Hermon High School.
"It's something I can't do," he adds with a chuckle.
Snyer says it took about two hours o construct the display.
You'll find it on the left hand side as you're driving into the high school.
The patriotic tribute is expected to stay up for at least another day.
