LIBERTY, Maine (WABI) - A Persian Gulf War veteran from Liberty is carrying on his mother's legacy.
Mark Schneider crochets scarves and donates them to charities.
His mother used to crochet scarves for children during her chemotherapy treatments.
After she passed away Schneider decided he wanted to continue her work.
Along with helping others, he says his hobby is good for his health.
"It helps me with my PTSD big time," said Mark Schneider. "It keeps me focused on one thing instead of my mind racing and doing a hundred different things. My mom's looking over me. I know she's proud of what I'm doing."
Schneider taught himself how to crochet and has since donated countless scarves and blankets.
