BANGOR, Maine (WABI) School children will have more access to nutritious breakfasts thanks to a $26,000 grant.

This week, Full Plates Full Potential, an organization dedicated to ending child hunger in Maine, gave the funds to public schools and nonprofits.

It's to help 'Breakfast After The Bell' programs.

They say research shows last year nearly 87,000 Maine children, nearly half of all public school students, lived in homes where there's often not enough nutritious food to eat.
