HAMPDEN, Maine (WABI) The Good Shepherd Food Bank is receiving a hefty donation.
The Tramuto Foundation out of Ogunquit has awarded them a grant for 50 thousand dollars.
The money will support the purchase of a cold storage unit in the Food Bank’s new Hampden facility.
Good Shepherd says their plan is to make sure every Mainer has access to food by 2025.
“It is exactly what we love, these aspirational goals that we can make the world a better place and it's going to happen, not by doing great things, it's going to happen by doing little things that have the capacity to drive great change,” said Donato Tramuto. “This is why it was really a no brainer for the Tramuto Foundation Board to select this organization as our partner.”
Last year, Good Shepherd Food Bank distributed more than 28 million pounds of food to its partner agencies.
