Former BIW Union Officer Sentenced For Embezzling Union Funds

BATH, Maine (WABI) A man who once served as treasurer of the largest union at Bath Iron Works has been sentenced to eighteen months in prison for embezzling more than $280,000 in union funds.

Ryan Jones pleaded guilty to embezzling from a labor organization.

According to court documents, Jones stole the money to support a cocaine addiction.

His lawyer says Jones has been attending Narcotics Anonymous meetings and no longer uses drugs.
