Portland, Maine (WMTW) Five Red Cross volunteers from Maine are in the process of heading to Florida.

This is the third Hurricane Jeff Ohman has been deployed to.

He and other volunteers will wait at a staging area in Orlando until the hurricane passes.

They will then be sent to the areas with the most need.

"Its quite a feeling to be a part of this and to help out." Says Ohman.

"That's what makes me want to leave NOW and be there. Because I know I have skills that I can offer Florida to assist the people there." Says Aly Flynn, one of the volunteers.

Seventeen Red Cross volunteers from Maine are already deployed in Texas.

The Red Cross of Maine dispatched its only remaining emergency response vehicle to Florida.

Governor LePage says his office will match the first $50,000 donated to Harvey and Irma relief through the Maine State Employees Combined Charitable appeal.
