Fire Destroys Home in Plymouth

PLYMOUTH, Maine (WABI) - Fire destroyed a home in Plymouth Wednesday afternoon.

The call came in just before three on Moosehead Trail.

Authorities say no people were injured but some pets died in the fire.

They say the home is a total loss and the homeowner was uninsured.

They have called in the Red Cross to assist.

Lieutenant Walter Gibbons of Plymouth Fire Department says, "Our first engine found the structure heavily involved and got a line on it. Mutual aid was requested from at least 7 different towns. During the day time...low man power. We did get a good knockdown. It's pretty hard this time of year first off, losing everything you have and then trying to rebuild. Very sad day for these folks."

A cause is unknown at this time. Fire marshal's are still investigating.
