(WABI) Construction at the Fiberight site in Hamdpen continues.

The municipal review committee and Fiberight have partnered together to build a site that will convert trash into biofuel.

Officials say their mission is to build a place where whatever is disposed of is environmentally friendly.

Greg Lounder, MRC Executive Director said, "The facility ultimately is a new opportunity to experience a real step increase in recycling in the region and the facility that we are constructing will be available to service the long term needs of the community. The arrangement we have put together with the project vendor is a 40 year long term solution."

The facility is scheduled to be up and running by next April.
