Downeast Doggie Drive To Benefit Bangor Humane Society

BREWER, Maine (WABI) - Thursday will be a day for the dogs at a car dealership in Brewer.

Downeast Toyota is partnering with Loyal Biscuit to collect donations for the Bangor Humane Society.

The Downeast Doggie Drive will help collect items like canned and dry food, blankets, and new or gently-used toys for pups to be donated to the humane society.

Organizers say it's also a day for pets and their owners to enjoy some fun at the dealership.

They'll have a treat prize wheel and pet-friendly ball pit, even doggy massages.

It's something General Manager Kevin Kelly says his employees, many of whom are pet owners, are excited to get behind.

"Because they have pets, they're pet owners, they want to help their pets as well as the community as a whole, so we want to be able to participate in that with our employees and with our customers and the community," says Kelly.

There will be a photo booth for pets and their families and a raffle including a full-vehicle detail and gift basket from Loyal Biscuit.
