Department of Education Talks About Overhauling Proficiency-Based Diploma Rule

Maine, (AP) The Department of Education is overhauling the Proficiency-Based Diploma rule.

It's designed to make sure kids are competent in the learning standard.

But school leaders from across the state weighed in with concerns.

They want to make sure all students can graduate.

The Department of Education will discuss the rule with school leaders during the next two months.
