Cumberland Farms to donate portion of sales Friday to Cpl. Cole Memorial Fund

PORTLAND, Maine (WMTW) - Friday, May 18th, Cumberland Farms locations across Maine will donate a portion of the proceeds from certain drink purchases to the Cpl. Eugene "Gene" Cole Memorial Fund.

Cole was shot and killed in the line of duty during the early morning hours of April 25 in Norridgewock.

From 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Friday, May 18, 10 cents from every eligible drink purchase will go to the fund.

Eligible drinks include fountain and coffee purchases.

Cole was Maine's first police officer shot and killed in the line of duty in nearly 30 years.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Corporal Eugene Cole Memorial Fund, c/o Bangor Savings Bank, 113 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, ME 04976.
