HAMPDEN, Maine (WABI)- Fire broke out inside a commercial storage garage in Hampden Wednesday morning.

One of the owners of Hughes Brothers says his men saw black smoke coming from the building when they arrived at work around 5:30.

No one was inside at the time.

When fire fighters arrived, there was heavy smoke coming from building but no flames.

Ed Hughes says four mixers, concrete trucks and a large loader were inside the garage.

"I haven't been able to get inside to assess the damage yet," said Ed Hughes, VP of Hughes Bros. "It definitely will hurt if we can't use them."

"We had crews inside the building that were able to get to the seed of the fire," said Jared LeBarnes, Hampden Fire Chief. "We put water and foam on that and we used positive pressure ventilation to ventilate the building."

Main Road North around the fire scene is back open to traffic.

No word yet what caused the fire.
