"Confrontation' in Lewiston involving two dozen teenagers sends man to hospital

LEWISTON, Maine (WMTW) Lewiston and Maine State Police are investigating what they call a confrontation between two dozen people in Kennedy Park.

Police said the incident happened at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday. It involved nearly two dozen teenagers, pre-teens and at least three adult men, Maine State Police spokesman Steve McCausland said.

One of the men involved was taken to the hospital. His injuries were severe enough to require surgery, McCausland said.

Police have not said how the man was injured. His name was not released.

Police were asking any witnesses to come forward.
