BANGOR, Maine (WABI) Closing arguments have begun in the trial of 29-year-old Robert Hansley, the man accused of killing 38-year-old Robert Kennedy in a Center Street apartment in Bangor two years ago.
The state addressed the jury saying that Hansley and Thomas Ferguson were working together.
Ferguson was convicted back in June of elevated aggravated assault for being an accomplice to the killing of Kennedy.
They say that both men were involved but that is was Hansley who pulled the trigger ultimately killing Kennedy.
But the defense claims that Hansley was simply with the wrong person at the wrong time and that it was in fact Ferguson who shot and killed Kennedy.
If Hansley is convicted on the charge of murder he faces 25 years to life.
