CAMDEN, Maine (WABI) - Camden voters have approved a 20 year power purchase agreement with Revision Energy for the installation of a solar energy array.
A special town meeting was held Tuesday night to discuss the proposal.
360 solar panels will be installed on Sagamore Farm off Route 1, which is town owned land.
It's estimated the solar array will be operating within three months.
There is no cost to the town for the installation and residents will benefit from net energy billing.
According to the town's energy committee, the solar project will offset municipal power consumption providing long-term savings.
