AUGUSTA, Maine. (WABI) The red carpet was rolled out Tuesday night at the Augusta Civic Center for the employers and employees representing some of the 'Best Places to Work in Maine.'
The Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resources Management named 80 companies to the list this year.
The 12th annual awards banquet celebrates companies that have established and consistently foster outstanding workplace environments.
The program is managed by the Best Companies Group, which gathers information on both the employee and employer level.
"The majority of the evaluation is based on what employees tell us through an employee engagement survey, and then we also fold in some information we collect with the employers survey about benefits, and policies, and cool things people are offering their employees," said Peter Burke, President of the Best Companies Group.
The program is split into three different categories- small, medium, and large- to recognize companies of all sizes all over the state.
Edward Jones was named as the large business category winner.
Patriot Subaru of Saco the medium business category winner, and Maine Information Network of Augusta as the small company category winner.
