HOLDEN, Maine (WABI) Folks in Holden hit the links on Sunday for a good cause.
The 3rd Annual Brewer Students Sweep Away Cancer Golf Tournament was played at Traditions Golf Course.
Fifteen teams competed in a variety of events such as longest drive contest, a putting contest and two closest to the pin contests.
There was also a silent auction.
Proceeds benefit EMMC's Champion the Cure Challenge, the American Cancer Society along with two scholarships at Brewer High School.
"Last year it rained all day," said Alan Alexander, tournament director. "So, unfortunately everybody got soaked. This year, even though it's warm, we got soda, we have water out on the course for everybody. You know, keeping everybody cool."
Organizers came in to the day with a goal of raising between $5,000 and $7,000.
