BELFAST, Maine (WABI) - Fire crews from several towns battled a fire in the frigid weather Thursday in Belfast.
Crews were called to Ducktrap River of Maine's facility on Little River Drive around 9:00 a.m.
That building was being renovated for an expansion by the company.
Crews arrived to heavy smoke coming from the building.
They knocked the fire down quickly.
The State Fire Marshal's Office says construction work being done inside the building might have sparked it.
"The fire at this time does not look suspicious," said Sergeant Joel Davis of the Maine State Fire Marshal's Office. "There were people working on the building at the time, and there was some hot work going on with welding and some other cutting torches, so that's one thing we'll be looking into to see if that's a cause."
No one was injured.
The investigation continues.
