BANGOR, Maine (WABI) A downtown Bangor business is a national finalist in the Small Business Associations Innovate Her Competition.
Innovate her is a competition to showcase unique products and services that help impact and empower the lives of women and families.
Willie Wags fits in this description by offering a monthly subscription box that features products from women owned small businesses.
They are the first ever Maine business to advance to the national finals.
Jamie Clark owner of Willie Wags says, "We've never competed in a pitch competition before so, we were pretty excited and thought that the contest itself and what its mission was exactly in line with what we do every day. So, when we received a phone call from Washington yesterday we were very shocked and surprised and really excited about what the possibility of some of that grant money could do for our business and the other businesses that we partner with."
The finalists will pitch their products and ideas to a panel of expert judges in October and compete for the top three awards and a total of $70,000 in prizes.
